James Herriot állatorvos-író és a múzeum bemutatása

“Bizonyára nagyon sokan olvasták Dr. James Herriot angliai állatorvos könyveit. Amikor legelöször olvastam magyarul James Herriot könyveit, akkor le sem tudtam tenni, annyira élveztem. Aztán késöbb angolul is többször végigolvastam.

“Mindig a legjobb formádat adjad.

Érdekes módon, a legelsö könyvét Dr. Wight hat éven át irta, aztán éveken át senki sem akarta kiadni.

A DVM Magazine egyik nemrégi számában James Herriot (James Alfred Wight) fia (szintén állatorvos) nyilatkozott, érdemes elolvasni.

A praxis (múzeum) Thirsk városában, North Yorkshire-ben (a könyvekben Darrowby nevü város nevet használta Dr. James Alfred Wight). Az alábbi képeken Thirsk városa látható.

actor Sir Anthony Hopkins is terrific as the dedicated, exasperating
Dr. Siegfried Farnon, who takes young Herriot, fresh out of a London
veterinary college, on as his assistant. Herriot is appealingly played
by Simon Ward (perhaps best known as the Duke of Buckingham in The
Three Musketeers).
